How to apply for the SROA BOARD of DIRECTORS

Sunriver is a wonderful place to live or visit. A principal reason Sunriver has been able to maintain its level of excellence is the commitment and involvement of property owners in local governance. The many perspectives brought to the local governing board by its members are integral to keeping our community a great place.

Running and serving on the SROA board is a great way to lend your skills and abilities to maintain and improve our community. There are three positions that open each year and elected in August for a three year term. 

All Sunriver property owners, both resident and non-resident, are eligible to serve on the SROA Board of Directors. Prospective candidates must be in good standing with the association (no past due maintenance fees, citations, etc.).

Contact a Nominating Committee member or email nominating@srowners.org to express your interest and/or find out more about the duties and the steps to becoming a candidate. 

There are two ways to get your name on the ballot:

1. APPLY: Applications are available from the SROA office (57455 Abbot Drive) or from this website. The deadline to submit an application is the third Friday in March by 5pm. The Nominating Committee will review your submitted material and set up time for an interview.

2. CANDIDATE BY PETITION: SROA Bylaws also allow the option of a "Candidacy by Petition" rather than submitting an application through the SROA Nominating Committee. 100 property owner signatures are required on the petition for candidacy (one signature per property allowed). The deadline for Candidacy by Petition submission April 1 at 5pm.

Candidacy Filing Dates

• January: Applications available. 
• Third Friday of March by 5pm: SROA Board applications must be submitted to the Nominating Committee at the SROA office.
• April 1 by 5pm: SROA Board Candidacy by Petition must be submitted to the SROA office.
• April SROA Board of Directors Meeting: The slate of candidates is announced.
