The Sunriver Police Department and Sunriver Police and Fire Foundation invite residents to a vital community safety event: “Stay Safe – Fraud, Scams and the Internet” on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Seator Hall in the police/fire station at 57475 Abbot Drive in Sunriver.
The event will feature presentations from respected community leaders, including Deschutes County District Attorney Steve Gunnels. Known for his commitment to public safety and community outreach, Gunnels has been a driving force in educating citizens about fraud prevention and internet safety.
Joining him will be Aaron Schofield and Amy Varner from First Interstate Bank, who will be offering training on fraud prevention, as well as Sgt. Calin Davis of the Sunriver Police Department, who will share law enforcement perspectives on digital safety and crime prevention.
Together, these speakers will guide attendees through the critical steps of protecting themselves against fraud, avoiding online scams, and practicing safer online habits.
