Winter is upon us and it's not unusual for Sunriver to experience sub-zero temperatures and plenty of snow.
Freezing conditions can lead to frozen pipes. If your home is unoccupied, be sure the thermostat is set warm enough to keep your pipes from freezing, or if your pipes are heat-taped, be sure it is plugged in and operational. Inside your home, cupboard/closet doors can be left open to expose pipes to warmer interior air.
Occupied or not, your crawl space vents should be closed and vent plugs in place. Outside faucets should also have foam covers in place.
Notice to Sunriver owners who hire snow removal contractors
If you hire a contractor to remove snow from your Sunriver driveway, walkways, decks, roof or patios, please request (and monitor) that they do the following:
• Take special care to make sure your snow is NOT dumped on or around fire hydrants. • Removed snow is to remain on your property...
...not plowed or blown onto commons, including islands in the cul-de-sacs ...not plowed or blown onto a neighbor's driveway or property ...not pushed into the street
Do-It-Yourselfers are also requested to keep their snow on their property.
