The Communications staff ...
... is responsible for SROA's official monthly publication, the Sunriver Scene. An editor, advertising manager and production manager write, design and produce this tabloid-sized newspaper with the help of local volunteer contributors. The Scene is mailed to all Sunriver property owners, in the U.S. and as the area's only "community" newspaper, an additional 4,500 to 8,000 copies are distributed from locations throughout Sunriver.
... programs the community access TV channel 4 on Chambers Cable. Channel 4 airs announcements regarding organization meetings (such as the SROA board and committee meetings, Sunriver Anglers Club, etc.), music, cultural, community events and recreational programs. In the event of an emergency or nearby public safety concern such as wildfire, train derailment, flood or dangerous road and weather conditions, an emergency message regarding the situation can be programmed to keep residents and visitors informed.
