Adventures Geared to Sunriver's Young Visitors!
From June 18 to August 24 SROA Recreation offers daily camps
for youth grouped by age (5-6, 7-8, 9-12). A week of camp includes daily swimming at SHARC, swimming or
tennis instruction on alternate weeks, weekly Wednesday field trips and a
variety of enrichment activities relating to each week's theme. Snacks are provided. The 9-12 Age Group also needs to bring
their bike, helmet and bike lock daily.
Children must bring a backpack stocked with the following
items: swimsuit, towel, water bottle, sunscreen and lunch every day.
Closed-toed shoes are required. Cost for a one-week camp is $200 (general public), $175 (Sunriver owners with 2012
SROA ID card) or $45 daily drop in fee ($75 on Wednesdays; includes field
trip). Camp T-shirts are required; $10/each. Extended Care is available from
7:30-9am ($5) and 4-6pm ($7) or both morning and afternoon for the same day for
$10.
June 18-22 - What's
Cooking? Join our camp counselors as
we have fun with food. We'll make our own aprons and chef hats that will be
perfect for creating our edible sailboats and smoothie treats. A field trip
will take us to local restaurants. Tennis instruction included. June 25-29 - Vacation
Station Create vacation keepsakes
with us that you'll use all summer long. We'll go on a field trip to Bouncing
Off The Walls & Acrovision. Swimming instruction included. July 2-6 - Stars &
Stripes Become a patriotic superstar
with us. This week we will make and decorate festive arts and crafts Uncle Sam
would be proud of. Field trip to Sunriver Resort for their Annual July 4th Bike
Parade. Tennis instruction included. July 9-13 - Challenge Week This week is all about
trying something new and challenging yourself. Each camper will leave Camp with
new teams spirit and souvenirs to show it. Field trip to Bend Rock Gym &
Central Oregon Indoor Sports. Swimming instruction included. July 16-20 - Desert Oasis Become one with nature in
the desert surrounding us. It's more fun than a beach; we promise. We'll visit
the High Desert Museum. Tennis instruction included. July 23-27 - Wacky &
Wonderful Flying saucers, bugs, and
kites...oh my! There isn't anything normal about this week. Join us for a trip to
Richardson's Rock Ranch. Swimming instruction included. July 30-August 3 - It's a
Jungle Out There Puppets, masks, flowers and
caterpillars are just a few of the things we'll get our hands on. Our field
trip is a float on the Deschutes River. Tennis instruction included. August 6-10 - Treasure
Hunters Shiver me timbers. There's
pirate training to do this week before we search for a hidden treasure! Field
trip to South Twin Lake. Swimming instruction included. August 13-17 - Amazing
Inventions Week Take the old and make it new
and improved this week with our counselors. Field trip to the Bend Science Station.
Tennis instruction included. August 20-24 - Fantastic
Finale End summer with a bang at
Adventure Camp. We'll celebrate the end of the summer with a river float down the
